SAINT® Scans IP Version 6 Networks

Top vulnerability scanner leads in use of this protocol.

Bethesda, MD, March 22, 2005 – The SAINT® vulnerability scanner now includes support for scanning IP Version 6 networks. SAINT® is an industry leader in supporting the identification of vulnerabilities for companies using the IPv6 protocol.

Today's Internet runs primarily on Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4). However, a shift will be seen as a transition to IPv6 takes effect in the upcoming years. The SAINT® network vulnerability scanner has the ability to scan IPv6 addresses and is poised and ready for the transition now.

SAINT’s Chief Engineer Sam Kline remarked, “The availability of IPv6-compatible security products is becoming increasingly important as the Internet shifts to IPv6. SAINT is pleased to be a leader in this area.”

The SAINT® vulnerability assessment tool is used by network administrators and IT security personnel to find and fix security weaknesses in their networks before the weaknesses can be exploited by intruders.
